Open Plea - A Plea to the Judge When You Don't Like the State Offer - Florida
An "Open plea" is where you ask the court (the judge) to decide your sentence. This is considered when the State attorney (prosecutor) makes you a plea offer that you are not interested in, for example jail or prison. Nobody is interested in that type of offer.
